The Player Pathway at Calgary West Football Club

The Calgary West Way

  • Club Principles

The Calgary West Football Club is athlete-centred. We believe that all players, regardless of their skill level, deserve the opportunity to enjoy soccer and develop to their full potential.

The main goal of CWFC is to create a fun, development-focused environment that encourages players to continue participating in the game. We adhere to the principles and training methods established by Long Term Athlete Development (LTAD).

At CWFC we focus on building a better future—today’s performance and scores are less important than demonstrating patience and fostering proper player development.

  • Club Goals

    1. Enhance our Development and Competitive programs through Integrated Program Delivery.

    2. Provide streamlined operational and technical support.

    3. Create a club identity based on shared values.

    4. Plan for the development of a long-term club facility.

  • Club Organization

CWFC is a proud member of Calgary Minor Soccer Association (CMSA), Calgary Women’s Soccer Association (CWSA) and Calgary United Soccer Association (CUSA).

All three soccer governing bodies are members of the Calgary Soccer Federation, who are in turn, members of the Alberta Soccer Association (ASA).

The ASA is a member of the Canadian Soccer Association (CSA), which is governed by FIFA – Federation International de Football Association. CWFC is therefore a fully sanctioned soccer club.
